Kibbeh

Kibbeh is a croquette-like dish that originates from the Levant region, particularly around Aleppo, Syria. However, it is also very popular in the area stretching from Turkey towards Armenia. Kibbeh food is also quite widespread in Latin American countries as it has been introduced and promoted by the immigrants who came to the region, especially in the 19th and 20th centuries. As the representative and supplier of Middle Eastern, Turkish and Greek foods in the United States, we also serve beef kibbeh for your taste.

Description

Kibbeh: Not Meatballs but Meat Stuffed Balls

Kibbeh ingredients contain beef, cracked wheat, salt, onion, ground pepper, olive oil, cumin, paprika, and other spices. The procedure of kibbeh starts with soaking and softening the cracked wheat (bulgur) with water. Then, we process this soaked bulgur with the onion, salt, and pepper to give it a creamy texture.

Afterward, we prepare the stuffing by cooking the minced beef in a pan with onions and olive oil. This beef and onion mix is stuffed into the football-shaped balls. Lastly, these footballs are fried in the preheated oil until it gets a brown color and crunchy top layer, which are the primary signs of a good Kibbeh.
